If you’ve become a parent in the recent years, you must have experienced both the overwhelming amount of advices offered by family members, experts, mommy influencers and such, and the feeling of insecurity about what and how to do. The bad news: no amount of advices will get you over this ambivalence in years to come. The good news: raising a good kid with the right values can be a challenge, but there are certain shortcuts – if you will – that will help you acheive it.
Another factor besides your lack of certainty in parenting values that comes into play early on is the time your child spends alone regardless of your affection and your wish of close-to-constant presense. There are times a child is left alone, and it is simply unavoidable: you as a parent must provide in ways that require you being away, even if being away only means the kitchen to do the dishes or the bathroom to start up the washing machine.
These short periods of time don’t really matter, you might think, but these present the perfect opportunity for the child to learn something that both entertains them and teaches them about your core values. Might we suggest trying ToySeekers, the educational cartoon series?
If we have a common ground in basic values, ToySeekers could be a handy solution for you: we aim to teach children ages 3 to 5 about fundamental human virtues in educational cartoon epizodes. Children tend to idolize cartoon characters, and that is a two-edged sword: as a parent it is your job to carefully select the cartoon characters towards whom your child might develops affection or looks up to.
If you pay attention to the messages of cartoons, those could be of great help in entertaining and teaching your children at the same time at times you’re away doing chores. Cartoons show children how certain things in real life function, they have the ability to explain them about communication, feelings and relationships – potentially even teaching them about certain dangers lurking around – in a way they can understand. Certain life lessons are an absolute must for children to learn, and educational cartoons have a tendency to both grab their attention and find the right way to introduce children to situations they otherwise have not yet had the chance to meet, preparing them for times to come.
If you agree with us – and what child psychologists believe to be true and useful -, we’ll tell you what: have your child watch the first epizode of ToySeekers and let’s see how they like it! 🙂
